Dikanda formierten sich 1997 in Szczecin, Polen, ihren Bandnamen entlehnen sie aus einem der afrikanischen Dialekte, er steht für „Familie“. Entsprechend nah sind sich die MusikerInnen und alle Beteiligten betreiben Dikanda mit großer Hingabe und Leidenschaft. Ihre Musik kombiniert polnische Folklore, orientalische Klänge, Balkan-Sounds wie auch Einflüsse aus Mazedonien und Rumänien. Dikanda haben bislang 5 Alben veröffentlicht, zuletzt 2010 „Live“. Letzteres ist das eindrucksvolle musikalische Statement einer Band, die auf der Bühne im Wortsinn auflebt, mit Charisma, Witz und Seele ihr Publikum zu einer musikalischen Reise um die ganze Welt einlädt und stets für einen emotionalen, bewegenden Abend gut ist.

Dikanda in one of African’s many dialects means “family”. This connects to the group’s spirit – they live and work as if it was a small, loving family. The group was founded in 1997 in Szczecin, Poland. Passion for traditional music and hard work had them create their own style and find their original sound. Dikanda´s songs have been inspired by Poland’s folklore, Oriental culture and influences from Balkan, Macedonian and Romania. Dikanda´s concerts are a unique journey through the music of the world, a spontaneous meeting full of energy, charisma, genuine passion, joy and emotion for the audience as well as the band itself.
