Kaum ein Schweizer Bluesmusiker lebt den Blues so kompromisslos wie Marc Amacher. Seit über zwei Jahrzehnten ist er unterwegs. Einem grösseren Publikum wurde er durch The Voice of Germany bekannt, wo er mit seiner “MARC-kanten” Stimme bis ins Finale kam. Seither stand er mit Musikern wie Eric Clapton, Billy F. Gibbons (ZZ Top), Robbie Williams und The BossHoss auf der Bühne, ohne je seine eigene Handschrift zu verlieren. Bei Amacher geht es nicht um Perfektion, sondern um Haltung und um Musik, die bewegt. Letztes Jahr erschien sein Album LOAD, womit er mit Platz 1 die Schweizer Albumcharts stürmte.

OVERDRIVE isn’t a retro record. It’s the sound of a band that would rather play than explain. Eleven songs that blend blues, rock’n’roll and modern blues rock with the energy of a live performance and the belief that real music doesn’t have to be perfect—it has to be honest. These songs are about freedom, hard work, hope, doubt and the choices that define us. „Hell Yeah (Here I Am)“ kicks the door wide open. „Streets Are Golden“ is an anthem for everyone who keeps moving forward when life pushes back. „Crying“ reveals the album’s emotional core, while „Dark Knight“ and „Dirt House Blues“ explore the darker side of the human experience. With „Cash Smash Boogie“, Marc Amacher takes a tongue-in-cheek swing at the obsession with money, wrapped in a heavy groove and raw rock’n’roll attitude. A defining moment of the album is „You Can’t Beat Time“, a powerful duet with Katharina Michel. Two distinctive voices meet as equals, reminding us of the one thing nobody can outrun: time itself.
